When Prince George moves in to his parents’ home for the first time since his birth, his bedroom will look strikingly different from the one at his grandparents’ house – not that he’ll notice.
In an excerpt of Prince William’s upcoming CNN special, “Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope,” he reveals that the royal baby’s room will have an African theme.
“I’ll have toy elephants and rhinos around the room,” he said, according to ABC News. “We’ll cover it in, you know, lots of bushes and things like that. [We’ll] make him grow up as if he’s in the bush.”
William says he hopes his son will get to take trips to Africa like he did as a boy with brother Prince Harry and his parents, Prince Charles and the beloved Princess Diana.
For now though, the prince is focusing on being a parent to a newborn for the first time.
“He wriggles around quite a lot and he doesn’t want to go to sleep that much, which is a little bit of a problem,” William said. “He’s a little bit of a rascal.”
“Prince William’s Passion” also delves deeper into William’s charity work for Africa, as well as his “dream to save the world’s endangered species.”
The special airs on Sunday, September 15 at 10pm on both CNN and CNN International.
