While a “Fantastic Four” reboot has long been in the works, it may come as a surprise that the quartet will likely cross paths with another supergroup: The X-Men.
According to the UK’s “SFX,” Mark Millar, who oversees Fox’s Marvel superhero flicks, said that “without question,” some of Marvel’s characters will be “showing up in each other’s movies.”
“I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in ‘Iron Man,’” he said. “Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool – and I expect to see more of that.”
Millar admits that while he has a soft spot for the first two “Fantastic Four” movies, which starred Chris Evans and Jessica Alba, they “were not very good.”
For the reboot, which is not expected to bring back any of the core cast from the previous films, he says the key is finding the right person to helm the project, citing “Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan as one such example.
No casting has been announced for the new “Fantastic Four,” though the project is reportedly eyeing a 2015 release, while “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set to premiere in May 2014.
