Lifetime isn’t planning to clean house with its original series, as the network has just announced that it has renewed “Devious Maids” for season 2.

The show, which was created by Marc Cherry of “Desperate Housewives” fame, will return next year for a 13-episode second season, Zap2it reports. “Devious Maids” stars Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez and Edy Ganem as five maids working in Beverly Hills who get caught up in a murder conspiracy.

“One of the most daring series on television, ‘Devious Maids’ has quickly become a hit,” Lifetime’s executive vice president and general manager Rob Sharenow said. “We are very proud of the show and are delighted to continue our partnership with Marc Cherry.”

The soapy drama got off to a slow start when it premiered in June but quickly became one of the fastest-growing shows in Lifetime History.
