Despite the allegations that Usher Raymond’s ex-wife Tameka Foster has filed for primary custody in the wake of their son’s pool accident, there is good news.
Their son, Usher Raymond V, is “showing miraculous signs of improvement after nearly drowning in a pool,” TMZ reports.
The 5-year-old boy is said to be in good spirits and is reportedly sitting up, eating and talking in the hospital’s ICU, where he was taken after getting his hand caught in the pool at "The Voice" coach’s Atlanta home.
“People” reports that Usher released a statement about the incident, thanking his Aunt Rena, the medical professionals and the two men who rescued the boy from the pool.
“I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering,” he said. “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being.”
Sources tell TMZ that Foster has stayed at the hospital with him the entire time. It is unclear at this time when she and her ex-husband will head to court to discuss the custody of their two sons.
