“The Voice” coach Usher and his family suffered a major scare this week after the singer’s son, Usher Raymond V, was rushed to the ICU following a near-drowning accident in the family pool.
Though his doctors say he will recover, TMZ reports that the 5-year-old boy was playing in the pool yesterday evening in Atlanta under the supervision of an aunt when the incident occurred.
When a toy became stuck in the drain, the boy dove down to retrieve it, getting his hand stuck in the process.
After an aunt and then the maid unsuccessfully attempted to save him, two men working in the house succeeded.
After administering CPR, the boy was taken to the hospital, where he is currently recovering. Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Raymond, the boy’s mother, were said to be at there with him in the ICU.
