“Revenge” fans are counting down the days until the third season premiere, and it looks like viewers will be introduced to several new faces when the hit series returns this fall.
Deadline reports that Karine Vanasse (“Pan Am”) has been cast for a multi-episode arc on the Emily VanCamp-starring series as a French businesswoman from Daniel Grayson’s (Josh Bowman) past who comes to New York to start a magazine.
Vanasse joins former “Smallville” star Justin Hartley, who is set to recur as the long-lost son to Madeleine Stowe’s Victoria Grayson.
Also set to guest star in the premiere episode is Diogo Morgado, who played Jesus Christ in the History Channel’s “The Bible” miniseries. Morgado will play a doctor on the nighttime soap, which has TVLine speculating Ashley Davenport (Ashley Madekwe) might not be long for this world.
Along with Connor Paolo, who played Declan on the first two seasons of the hit series, Madekwe will not return as a series regular in season three, though she will return for the third-season premiere.
Though some fans complained that the show became too convoluted in the second season, particularly with to the introduction of a shadowy organization called “The Initiative,” but “Revenge” seemed to right the ship after a stellar two-hour finale in May.
“Revenge” returns to ABC on Sunday, September 29 at 9pm. What do you think of the casting choices? Click through the gallery above and leave your thoughts in the comments!
