Whether it’s the budding romance between Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy that draws you in or watching Spider-Man duke it out with the latest villain terrorizing New York City, a new Comic-Con teaser for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” promises another web-slinging good time.
According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” the film will hit San Diego Comic-Con later this week with a panel set for July 19, but the sequel is already gaining buzz after the new teaser dropped ahead of the Comic-Con event.
In “Spider-Man 2,” which will hit theaters next summer, Spider-Man will take on Jamie Foxx’s Electro, who promises to complicate the teenage superhero’s life.
Peter will also reconnect with his old friend Harry Osborn, who is better known as the son of the Green Goblin and will be played by up-and-comer Dane DeHaan.
One character who won’t be popping up is Mary Jane Watson. Shailene Woodley was set to step in as Peter Parker’s crimson-haired crush in the film, but director Marc Webb decided to delay to character’s introduction.
A third film in the “Spider-Man” franchise has already been greenlit, with a summer release expected in 2016.
