While many girls would kill for a man like Hugh Jackman, the actor’s wife apparently isn’t too keen on his action hero body.
Jackman told “Entertainment Tonight” that his wife of more than 15 years, producer Deborra-Lee Furness, told her husband that she doesn’t really care for his physique when he gets in shape to play Wolverine in the X-Men franchise.
“Deb will tell you she doesn’t like it,” he joked. “She prefers me chubby because it makes her look better.”
The “Les Miserables” actor adds, “I don’t know. I met her on a prison drama where I was pretty jacked in that, and I dare say we wouldn’t be together if I hadn’t met her with that body.”
In the follow-up to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, Jackman’s Wolverine finds himself alone in Japan dealing with his past. The film features a cameo from actress Famke Janssen, who played Jean Grey in the first three “X-Men” films.
Jackman will also reprise his character in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” a sequel to 2011’s “X-Men: First Class.” Also returning to the franchise for the first time since “X-Men: The Last Stand” in 2006 are Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen and Halle Berry as Storm.
