Adam Lambert
is about to “gleek out”!

The former “American Idol” contestant will join FOX’s hit musical comedy series, “Glee,” when it returns for its fifth season this fall, according to MTV News.

The show’s creator, Ryan Murphy (“American Horror Story,” “The New Normal”), broke the news on Twitter:

The TV mega-producer has been known to reveal casting news and other scoop to his nearly 500,000 followers, teasing scoop on last year’s “Glee” wedding and revealing that Katey Sagal would play Artie’s mom on the series.

It is unclear what role the singer will play on the show or the number of appearances he will make.

Lambert himself has not tweeted about the news on his official Twitter @adamlambert. He last returned to FOX for the season finale of "American Idol" in May, performing a duet with second runner-up Angie Miller.
