Jenny McCarthy is known for being chatty, but the outspoken celeb might soon be able to take her gift of gab to the bank.
“US Weekly” reports that McCarthy is in serious talks to replace comedian-turned-talk show host Joy Behar on ABC’s “The View.”
Longtime “View” veteran Behar, who announced her departure from the show earlier this year, also hosts her own news program called “Joy Behar: Say Anything!,” which airs weeknights on Current TV.
Also expected to depart is former “Survivor” competitor Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who has appeared on the talker for nearly a decade. Brooke Shields has been rumored as a possible replacement for Hasselbeck, though she has not confirmed her exit.
If the negotiations are successful, Shields and McCarthy will likely join the line-up fulltime in September, when the series enters its 17th season.
Hosting is old hat for McCarthy, who has co-hosted ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve” celebration in recent years years and hosted her own short-lived VH1 talk show, “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” earlier this year.
“The View” airs weekday mornings at 11am on ABC. Find out who will sit down with the ladies this week on the show’s official site.
